Prime Inc. promoted longtime executive Darrell Hopkins to president, the company announced Last week.
Hopkins, who previously served as company controller and director of leasing for Success Leasing, began his career with the Springfield, Missouri-based company in 1994.
He will report to the founder and CEO of Prime Inc. Robert Low, who said during meeting of drivers Paraskevis who plans to remain in the position of managing director for many years to come.
“Darrell is an outstanding manager and leader at this company,” Lowe said during the meeting. “I can’t say enough good things about him. Darrell responded to every challenge.”
Business, flights, flatbed and tanker will continue to be referred to Low, the CEO said.
Hopkins called the promotion “a little humbling” and “a little overwhelming,” but said he was excited to take on the new role.
“I’m not Robert,” Hopkins said, “but I’m going to do everything in my power to help him achieve the philosophies he’s put in place, the culture he’s put in place and the business practices he’s put in place.”
Hopkins said working with the drivers in the leasing department “taught me what trucking is all about.”
“I’m not afraid to ask for help,” she said. “I’m not afraid to take guidance, because we have some really smart people in some great areas. … I’m excited. Look forward to. I will try to learn every day.”
