CH Robinson has promoted Michael Castagnetto to president of North American Surface Transportation, effective January 31. the company announced last month.
Castanettomost recently Vice President of Customer Success for the Surface Transportation business, he has been with the brokerage since 2005. He previously served as president of the Robinson Fresh business.

Castagnetto replaces Mac Pinkerton, who has been NAST’s chairman since January 2019. Pinkerton, who joined the brokerage in 1997, is leaving the firm at the end of the month to pursue other interests, a company spokesman told the Trucking Dive in an email.
“We thank Mac for his 27 years of dedicated service to CH Robinson, the impact and contributions he has made to the company, and we wish him the best,” Bozeman said in a statement.
In Pinkerton’s former job, Castanetto will face the challenge of turning around the Minnesota-based brokerage’s largest business unit, which reported a fourth-year quarter of decrease in revenue of 15.8%.
