Trimac Transportation acquired Feldspar Trucking Co., the the company announced Last week.
The addition of North Carolina-based bulk carrier specialist Spruce Pine expands Trimac’s US operations and enables it to serve the state’s mining industry. Currently, feldspar carries sand, clay and other minerals used in the ceramic and glass industries.
The acquisition strengthens the company’s bulk transportation services, Trimac President and CEO Matt Faure said in a statement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jim Norris, a spokesman for Feldspar Trucking, said joining Trimac positions the company for growth.
Founded in 1967 as Norris Trucking, Feldspar Trucking employs 60 drivers as well as brokers, office staff and store clerks, who will be retained by Trimac.
“This partnership not only ensures the continued growth and success of Feldspar Trucking, but also opens doors to new opportunities and expanded horizons for both our team and our customers,” he said.
The acquisition of Feldspar Trucking adds to a long list of deals Trimac has done in recent years.
In 2023 alone, the Canadian-based carrier acquired: jacknife oilfield services of Bonnyville, Alberta; Sylvian Lasalle bulk trucking from Joliette, Quebec? American Industrial Partners Logistics of Wapakoneta, Ohio, a provider of bulk terminals, transportation and storage services. and Tennessee-based bulk carrier Doyle Sims & Sons Trucking.
