PS Logistics has acquired construction materials transport company Yordy Transport, according to a March press release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Yordy Transport was purchased through its PS Logistics subsidiary, Diamond State Trucking & Logistics, and is the Birmingham, Alabama-based company’s third acquisition this year.
In January, PS Logistics acquired the flatbed division of ELS in Kenly, North Carolina, and the flatbed carrier Buddy Moore Trucking of Birmingham, Alabama.
The deal is part of PS Logistics’ strategy to acquire established or family-owned trucking businesses to expand its services, PS Logistics CEO and co-founder Scott Smith said in the announcement.
Yordy Transport’s commodity mix and geographic coverage are complementary to Diamond State’s. Under the agreement, Yordy Transport will operate as Diamond State, according to the release.
Yordy Transport of Morton, Illinois was founded in 2018 by Avery Yordy. The carrier moves rail, steel, lumber and building materials throughout the central and southeastern U.S. PS Logistics said it has acquired 26 trucking businesses and five non-asset logistics companies across the U.S. since 2016.
