Clarke Transport chairman Kevin Tait will take the reins of two additional business divisions of TFI International, the company announced in a LinkedIn post.
Tait will take over leadership of Vitran Express and National Fast Freight, TFI said in the release, while continuing in his executive roles at Clarke, a TFI subsidiary. He has served as a Clarke executive for the past five years, serving as vice president and general manager before becoming president in January, according to His LinkedIn.
The move consolidates TFI’s lead in three Canadian-based LTL businesses that the Montreal trucking giant acquired in the 2010s as TFI plans a spinoff of Daseke and its other trucking divisions.
TFI acquired LTL carrier Clarke in 2013, bought the LTL company Vitran in 2014 and bought LTL intermodal brokerage National Fast Freight in 2016.
Tait’s previous roles before joining Clarke included stints at Gardewine Group, Werner Enterprises and Schneider National, according to his LinkedIn.
