Raven Transport Holding is closing its over-the-road and dedicated fleet operations in Jacksonville, Fla., according to a statement filed with the state.
The owner trucking company, which is also based in Jacksonville, Fla., disclosed in an April 30 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice that the shutdown of its facility at 7150 Philips Highway is permanent.
The splits will take place over two weeks from June 30. A total of 83 workers will be affected, including 57 drivers.
The company will continue to pay wages and benefits to employees until their separation date, unless they voluntarily resign or are fired, according to the notice.
Raven Transport did not disclose the reason for the closures, although the trucking industry has been mired in a persistently weak freight environment. A company representative told Trucking Dive in an email that it does not make public statements.
