Two more trucking companies have joined the Department of Transportation’s federal Freight Logistics Optimization Works (FLOW) program announced on LinkedIn.
ITS Logistics and RoadEx America has signed on to the initiative to better share data across supply chains, alongside integrated freight services platform Shippabo.
FLOW, a public-private partnership, provides daily aggregated data showing capacity and trading to help predict and deal with disruption.
ITS Logistics SVP Adam Angle told Trucking Dive that the program provides end-to-end supply chain visibility, which is a benefit to the haulage provider’s operations and its customers.
“It’s the lines of the steamer. they are the chassis providers,” he said. “All these other contributors in there allow us to A) perform better as a trucking partner; [and] B) to be a supply chain consultant, more than just… inland ground transportation for our customers.”
The new freight forwarder members added their names to a growing list of trucking companies, marine companies, shippers and other supply chain stakeholders sharing and accessing data through the initiative.
The other engine members of the program are:
- C&K
- Gulf winds
- IMC companies
- NFI Industries
- RoadOne
- STG Logistics
- Werner
The FLOW program, overseen by DOT’s new Office of Multimodal Freight Infrastructure and Policy, has won accolades from participants.
