Montgomery Transportation Group hired Joe Jaska from DB Schenker as its new CEO this month, the Alabama-based carrier announced Tuesday.
Jaska’s experience managing diversified freight operations made him the right choice to lead the flatbed and oversize towing specialist, according to company founder Rollins Montgomery.
“Joe has a driver-first approach, placing the well-being and professional development of our drivers at the core of our success,” Montgomery said in the release. “Joe has strong industry relationships and extensive knowledge of logistics and trucking, combined with a genuine commitment to prioritizing the needs of drivers, customers and safety.”
Jaska was most recently DB Schenker’s EVP of Ground Transportation, Americas, where he oversaw the company’s operations in North, Central and South America. He also served as president and COO for Ann Arbor Distribution and managed the last mile, retail distribution, vertical medical delivery and third-party logistics businesses.
His other previous executive roles included Vice President of Operations for asset-based LTL Frozen Food Express and Vice President and General Manager of American Eagle Lines, a subsidiary of FFE Transportation Services, a provider of dry truckload services.
Montgomery Transportation Group was founded in May 2022 to bring together differentiated transportation services under one brand. Its divisions include Montgomery Transport, MT Dedicated, MT Select, RM Logistics, M1 and Montgomery Logistics. The carrier has more than 700 trucks.
Jaska, a board member of the American Trucking Associations, looks forward to leading Montgomery Transportation Group’s next phase of growth.
“Over the past 13 years, the Company has become a well-known industry player in flatbed trucking and interdimensional cargo transportation with safety and logistical efficiency at the core of its values and business practices,” said Jaska.
